Liverpool have been linked with a move for Bayern star Alpho…

Liverpool have faced problems at left-back all season, with Andy Robertson out of form.

The Scotland international was sent off against Fulham at the weekend, with his omission costing Liverpool two points in the Premier League title race.

The Reds ended up drawing 2-2 with Fulham, but with 11 men they could have easily won the game.

The Premier League leaders have struggled all season when Robertson’s form comes to the fore.

Another left-back in the team, Kostas Tsimikas, is facing fitness issues, which is bothering head coach Arne Slot and giving him a headache.

Liverpool are ready to address these issues in the upcoming transfer window and have identified the players they want to sign.

Former scout Mick Brown claims the Premier League giants are among the teams considering a move for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies.

“I understand there are scouts at Liverpool looking at him,” he told Football Insider.

“They’re going to know everything about him and they’re going to make an assessment based on how good they think he is.

“The scouts then report back to the head scout or even the head coach and make a final decision based on what they see.

“For a player of his caliber, the fact that he can come on for free is also a big attraction because he’s so well-respected.

“Clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid, are interested in him so Liverpool may not be able to compete with them financially.

“But if they are watching him so closely, they must be confident they can get a deal done.

The Canada international is entering the final year of his contract with Bayern and could sign as a free agent at the end of the season.

From early January, he will be allowed to hold talks with other clubs, one of which could be Liverpool.

Competition for his signature will be fierce for the Reds, with Real Madrid reportedly also looking to sign the speedy left-back.

Questions will be raised about Robertson and his form going forward, but it’s clear he’s beyond his best and it’s a position the Reds need to strengthen.

Signing Davies makes sense for the Reds as the player can join the club as a free agent, thus saving on transfer fees.

Bournemouth’s Milos Kolquez is another left-back linked with a move to the Merseyside club.
