Liverpool have secret weapon to seal January replacement for…

Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool need to sign a left-back in January as Andy Robertson goes through a “tough time” and believes his former club have a secret weapon to lock in his replacement.

Robertson had a nightmare game against Fulham on Saturday Just 17 minutes later, he was sent off for pulling down Harry Wilson with the last player on the pitch.

Arne Slot fought hard for a point but now equalized two to allow Chelsea to reduce the lead to just two points, despite Liverpool’s game against Everton being postponed due to Storm Darragh , the Blues played one more game.

Carragher believes his former club need to sort out their left-back situation in January.

“Robertson is going through a difficult time and it’s a very unforgiving situation,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“(Against Fulham) he didn’t look like he was fully running back, he got hit hard (early in the half) and then controlled the ball carefully and then got the red card.

“He needs help. Liverpool don’t have any backup and that’s something they need to sort out in January.”

The Liverpool legend believes Milos Kolquez – who he watched during Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw with West Ham on Monday – should be a January target and claims Liverpool Might have an advantage over other suitors in signing him.

“(Milos) Kolquez was a revelation at Bournemouth,” Carragher said.

“The technical director (Richard Hughes) who brought him to Bournemouth is now the sporting director at Liverpool.

“Kerkez looks like a full-back and is very aggressive. He has been outstanding since coming into the Premier League and will be one to keep an eye on in the future whether he stays or moves on.”

Despite dropping points at home on Saturday, Carragher insisted Liverpool’s performance from ten men bodes well for the remainder of the season and praised Slott’s tactics.

“I think Sloter will wake up and think ‘what I and my team have seen, we have a good chance of success,'” Carragher said.

“A lot of the reason Liverpool got something out of the (Fulham) game was down to Slottor. He’s as good at spotting it and changing it as anyone in the Premier League.”

Slott was delighted with his team’s performance and expressed his displeasure after the Champions League win over Girona.

“It’s the complete opposite to Girona, I’m happy with the result but not happy with the performance,” the Liverpool manager said.

“I’m very, very happy with the performance here and I couldn’t ask for more, but certainly not the result because if you drop points at home against Fulham it’s definitely not what you expect or want.

“But to be down one goal twice, everything goes against you except one thing – our players and our fans. I thought we were outstanding.”
