Another big name was mentioned at the stadium PDC World Darts Championships With Ross Smith fired by Paolo Nebrida Ally Pally on stage continued to dazzle with a 3-0 set victory.
Martin Schindler’s last match was blown away by Callan Rydz and it was a terrible day at the office for ‘Smudger’, who was soundly beaten in the end by the standout PDC Asian Tour team.
Having competed at three consecutive PDC World Darts Championships, this year was the year when the player known as “Pow” finally shined.

Nebrida was in the mood to criticize the mistakes of Smith, who has been brilliant at times this year while others have been riddled with mistakes and not been at their best. He wasn’t about to open up when the Filipino sealed the set. Smith missed a dart on double 20 for the set in the deciding match, and Nebrida made no mistake by shooting at the same target to take the lead.
His utterly grim appearance, reminiscent of Schindler on the outer ring, continued as “Smudger” weakened. He dropped two goals for double 10 in the set, and Nebrida did the rest. He pinned a double 20 to double his lead, and Smith was 4/16 in doubles.
Nebrida started the third game with 118 hits after more unsuccessful attempts and made it 2-0, but Smith broke and held the ball and again sent for the decisive throw, although this one in which the throw belonged to Nebrida.
Smith was 103 points short of staying in the tournament, and Nebrida hit a 48 before hitting a double 16 into the left corner to stun ‘Smudger’. Another huge upset at the PDC World Darts Championships as another big brand doesn’t perform well.
He will face the winner of the next match between Gary Anderson and Jeffrey de Graaf. Will “The Flying Scotsman” increase his seed count, or will he shine on the big stage and don a Nebrida tie?
