A new comedy on Netflix caught the attention of Jeanie Buss, the president and owner of the controlling company Los Angeles Lakersfor obvious reasons.
A show titled “Running Point” starring Kate Hudson was announced on Tuesday. The actress plays a central role in the plot, which recalls Buss’ career with the Lakers. According to Netflix descriptionwhen Hudson’s brother is forced to resign as president of the fictional Los Angeles Waves, she replaces him.
“Now that she is entering the family business, she will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board and the broader sports community that she was the right choice for the job,” Netflix added. “Over the course of the series, she aims to do just that – especially in the unpredictable, male-dominated world of sports.
The plot refers to the changes that the Lakers made in the franchise in 2017.
Jeanie released her brother Jim, who was executive vice president of basketball operations, and general manager Mitch Kupchak, naming Lakers legend Magic Johnson as president of basketball operations. She became the governor of the Lakers when her father and longtime owner Dr. Jerry Buss died in 2013.
