Luke Humphries takes title at Newcastle Darts Masters, reaffirming top form ahead of World Darts Championship defence

After winning Dazzler-17 in Leeds on Wednesday Luke Humphries won another exhibition tournament on Thursday night. The world number one turned out to be the best at the event in Newcastle.

Humphries was one of four big names at the tournament. They joined him Martin Adams, John Henderson AND Nathan Aspinall. In the first round they played against an amateur darts player. The fact that they can also throw a dart well was shown by the fact that Jack Howarth managed to win 3-1 against Adams.

Alan Bell managed to tear off one of Humphries’ legs, and after a 3-1 victory, he reached the semi-finals. Henderson and Aspinall then defeated Adam Atkinson and Karl Coleman 3-0 respectively.

Then in the semi-final, Humphries was too strong for Howarth 4-1. Aspinall eliminated Henderson 4-3, giving viewers a final between the two Premier League Darts stars. The final also lasted the full seven stages. Ultimately, it was Humphries who defeated Aspinall 4-3.

During this period, many of the world’s top players play for show. Not primarily for some nice extra pocket money, but also to keep the match rhythm going before the World Darts Championships.
