Łukasz Małyr can completely fill his fireplace. On the final night of the World Darts Championships he won two trophies, the most important of which was of course the Sid Waddell Trophy.
Littler became the new world darts champion after defeating Michael van Gerwen in the final (7-3). At just 17 years old, “The Nuke” became the youngest world darts champion in history.
However, the 17-year-old teen sensation also received the Ballon d’Art. This award is a nod to the Ballon d’Or, an award given annually to the best footballer of the year. However, Ballon d’Art is a noble initiative because the main idea is to raise a large amount of money for charity.
For every 180 points scored at the World Darts Championship, tournament sponsor Paddy Power will donate £1,000 to the British charity Prostate Cancer UK. Moreover, for each nine darts, 60,000 was also added to the total amount, which happened twice.
Littler accounted for a total of 76 180s during PDC World Darts Championshipsincluding 12 in the final against Van Gerwen. This is not a record, as Michael Smith threw a total of 83 180s during the 2022 World Darts Championships. However, Littler personally assured that the £76,000 would go to charity.
Van Gerwen also achieved the target, scoring 56 maximum points. Behind Van Gerwen, Callan Rydz (43), Chris Dobey (41) and Kevin Doets (28) round out the top five. The 2025 World Darts Championship saw a total of 907 maximum scores, worth £907,000. To this should be added £120,000 due to the nine darters of Christian Kist and Damon Heta, giving a total income of £1,027,000.
