One pundit claims the prospect of Kobe Mainu leaving Manchester United to join Chelsea is “surprising at both ends” because he “won’t be part of the squad”.
Mainu He enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season at his boyhood club Manchester United in the 2024/25 season and shone for England at last year’s European Cup, becoming one of the best young players in the Premier League.

“So taking those salaries off the books and creating space on the team gives the head coach a better option than letting a guy like Kobe Minor go.
“To me, it’s a surprise for both parties.”

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker explains why he can’t see Mainu leaving his boyhood club.
“I would look at Kobe Minor, where he comes from, everything about him, does he want to leave Manchester United? I would say no,” Parker said.
“I would look at him as a person, is he going to get what he wants? I would say no.
“So I don’t think they will do that because United are built on players like him. If they did it would just cause too many problems.
“Ineos and the newcomers in the field have persevered, so to do that would be a big statement.”
