Manchester City they filed a complaint with their local authorities BBC a radio station that broadcasts information about the club.
Officials at the Etihad Stadium were stunned when no dedicated City reporter from BBC Radio Manchester showed up at the pre-derby press conference, in what they believe is the first time such an event has been reported.
The broadcaster has the rights to City matches and the club’s coverage is usually carried out by City’s own journalist.
However, in recent times this reporter has been regularly turned away and others have been brought in to cover the club, leaving City residents scratching their heads.
They believe that no other top team has been subjected to the same treatment and that fans who support the club are losing out as a result. The absence of a City reporter at the derby pre-match was considered an omission.
It is understood City have already contacted Radio Manchester to clarify their feelings on the matter.
