Man United target Nuno Mendes wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester United are expected to target a new left-back next year as Ruben Amorim has identified the position as one of the weakest in the squad.

Luke Shaw’s fitness issues and Tyrell Malaysia’s struggles have forced the Man United boss to play Diogo Daltot in a position that is not his usual position.

This has been problematic for the team’s balance in Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation and he is keen to bring a new left-back to Old Trafford soon.

One player Man United are targeting is Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes.

The Portuguese played under Amorim for two years at Sporting from 2020 to 2022 and the Man United manager knows him well.

According to RMC SportMendes wants to leave PSG as his contract talks with the Ligue 1 side stalled.

The player believes that he is not being paid the salary package he deserves while being a regular starter for them.

United star’s agent opens up on potential move

Mendes has so far rejected all offers made by the club and his current contract expires in 2026 meaning a decision on his future will be made next year.

According to reports, the Red Devils have already made an offer to sign the PSG star but the French giants are also said to be hopeful of agreeing an extension with the left-back.

A move in the January transfer window is complicated at this stage so any move to Old Trafford will have to wait until next year’s summer transfer window.

The futures of Shaw and Malaysia at Old Trafford are uncertain at the moment and they could both leave the club under Amorim’s leadership.

The Premier League giants have a big decision to make regarding the futures of both Shaw and Malaysia as the former has been mostly unavailable due to his fitness issues and the latter has struggled to perform well since returning from a long-term injury.

United boss Amorim wants the club to tie Harry Maguire to a new deal As the manager praises the defender.
