Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has responded to Marcus Rashford, who surprised the football world yesterday after hinting at a potential departure from his boyhood club.
The English striker revealed in an interview with journalist Henry Winter that he is “ready for a new challenge and next steps.” Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were excluded from the competition. He said: “He’s right. We have a new challenge ahead of us, the biggest one in football, we are in a difficult situation. I hope all my players are ready.
Amorim also said, “I’m not talking about the future, we’re talking about the present. We are better with Marcus Rashford. A club like this needs great talent, and he is a great talent.”
He stated that he had not spoken to Rashford since making the statement because it was his day off.
The Manchester United coach added: “I want to get the best of Marcus Rashford. We will try different things to push Rashford to the best level he has shown me in the past. I just want to help Marcus.
According to Betfair odds, Paris Saint-Germain are favorites to sign Rashford before the start of February. Odds suggest Rashford’s second most likely target is any Saudi Pro-League club Arsenal they are the third favorites of the Englishman and both Barcelona AND Chelsea it’s 11/1 to sign it.
Amorim also suggested that his lineup would not be affected by the situation, stating: “They are focused on their work. They are focusing on their work to earn a place in the team, so it does not affect the team.”
On Thursday, Manchester United will face Tottenham in the quarter-finals of the English League Cup and Amorim confirmed that Rashford and Garnacho can play if they train well.
