Milan are reportedly continuing to look for a new striker to bolster Sergio Concesio’s squad Feyenoord have identified Santiago Gimenez as their primary targetAlso despite lining up a backup plan.
After the Rossoneri’s attempts to sign the likes of Marcus Rashford and Joao Felix failed, mainly due to financial reasons, they turned their attention to the Mexican striker, who has been a consistent goalscorer for the past three seasons with the Eredivisie outfit.
Milan are eyeing Feyenoord’s Gimenez but have a backup plan ready
According to Gianluca Di MarzioIntense talks between the parties took place on Tuesday and are expected to continue on Wednesday in an effort to reach an agreement.
However, the Diavolo have an option ready should Gimenez’s deal not materialize, as they are also monitoring Sevilla’s Dodi Lukebakio.
The Belgium international will pose a similar challenge to some previous targets, though, with the La Liga side valuing the forward at around €40m.
Despite the potential setback, the Rossoneri appear determined to strengthen their attacking department and are set to continue working to secure one of the two players before the end of the winter transfer window.
