The final phase European Q School will be held in Kalkar from Thursday to Sunday. On the first day of the competition, the Swede Victor Tingstrom crowned himself the winner of the day. He can now play on the PDC Pro Tour for at least the next two years.
Tingström was particularly impressive throughout the day, posting several averages of over 100 as he defeated Dutchman Jimmy van Schie 6-4 in the final. After Magnus Caris, Daniel Larssen and Jeffrey de Graaf, he is only the fourth Swede to win the PDC Tour Card. Tingström wasn’t immediately named as one of the potential new Tour Card holders, but the Swede didn’t care at all.
Needless to say, an overjoyed Tingström later told his story at ViaPlay. “I’ve never played this well before. I think it was still the best day of my career and it came at the right time,” he said.
“I still thought in the morning that maybe I wasn’t good enough to get the Tour Card, but from the first shot I felt extremely good today. I felt very good on the board, and my confidence grew after each match I won. I’m really happy, I can’t wait to get my Tour Card, it’s crazy.”

“Getting a PDC Tour Card is extremely difficult,” continued the 23-year-old Swede. “But after the second and third games, I really started to believe it. I kept trying to stay calm and I’m very happy that I was able to finish it.”
Apart from Dutch Swede De Graaf, Tingström is now the second player from his country who can take part in next year’s PDC Pro Tour. “And there is even more ahead of us, be sure of that,” he says with conviction.
