There’s no bigger sports fan in professional golf than Keegan Bradley, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that superstition crept in when he was asked about his new mustache on The Sentry on Friday.
“I did it as a joke for my wife and family and they all thought it was funny and enjoyed it. And now that I’ve had a few good rounds, I’m starting to get nervous, I’m going to have to stop this for a while,” Bradley said after shooting a second-round 64 that dropped him from his season lead by three points in the opener.
Since being named U.S. Ryder Cup captain by the PGA of America, Bradley has performed impressively consistently and, despite the obvious distractions of work, has been able to focus on his game.
He won the BMW Championship in August and propelled the team to victory in the US Presidents Cup in September in Montreal. Bradley admitted, however, that he is still thinking about this year’s Ryder Cup. In fact, he admitted that he had been having Ryder Cup dreams for the past few months.
“I had a dream yesterday, a Ryder Cup dream,” Bradley said. – I just have them all the time. That’s what I dream about, well, one thing, I can’t get to a course like one of those, and I’m kind of stressed. But I often dream about being in Bethpage, I think about it all the time.”
