Stephen Bunting is in the semi-finals in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships after ‘The Bullet’ recorded a stunning 5-2 victory over Peter Wright in the quarter-finals on New Year’s Day and is now set to face Luke Littler.
Bunting got off to a great start against Wright, winning the first four sets. He then had to fend off a mini-fight from the two-time former world champion, who won sets 5 and 6, but with a clear 3-0 score in the final set, it was still Bunting who won comfortably 5-2.

The 39-year-old Englishman has become a real crowd pleaser in recent years, and this has been confirmed once again during this World Cup, where the hashtag “Let’s go Bunting Mental” continues to make the audience wholeheartedly support their hero, every time and enthusiastically sang his song “Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia.

Bunting has been a curiosity in the darts world for years thanks to its incredibly light darts weighing just 12 grams. Now he’s throwing a heavier set and it’s safe to say the change has paid off as Bunting won the Masters early last year, his first major title, and skyrocketed to the PDC Order of Merit.
He may have put aside his special arrows, but he retained his unique position on the oche. The bunting throws oche from its right side and has been doing so since childhood. “It happened when I was young. I was playing at home and my dad was hanging the board on the wall, but it was off center. So I always stood on the right side of the board and it just stuck,” Bunting revealed in the video re his new official YouTube channel. “I started going out and playing boards in pubs and stuff like that. It was just natural for me to be in that position because I play that position at home.”
