LeBron James contributed 42 points to join Michael Jordan as the 40-year-old who scored 40 points in the 40-year-old NBA game, host Los Angeles Lakers beat 120-112 on Thursday night Golden State Warriors.
James also scored a season-best 17 rebounds, with eight assists and six three-pointers, and the Lakers won their fourth and tenth consecutive games in the last 12 games.
Austin Reaves added 23 points, while Gabe Vincent scored 15 points on five 3-pointers for the Lakers. Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes had 11 points, and Jarred Vanderbilt collected 14 rebounds.

Anfernee Simons scored 30 points and Portland won six straight wins in a home victory over Sacramento.
Simons made eight of 12 3-pointers and added six assists. Shaedon Sharpe assisted, Shaedon Sharpe contributed 24 points on the bench and Deandre Ayton scored 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Zach Lavine and Demar DeRozan each scored 22 points for the Kings, who lost for the fourth time in five games. Malik Monk contributed 21 points, while Domantas Sabonis amassed 10 points and 14 rebounds before the foul.

Daniel Gafford ended his three-game winning streak with eight points and 15 rebounds for the Mavericks, shooting 55.7% from the floor (49 of 88). Anthony Davis (abdominal strain) missed his third game since the Mavericks got it.
Jaylen Brown threw 25 points for the Celtics, he scored 21 points from Payton Pritchard, Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis scored 17 points respectively.

Anthony Edwards scored 41 points, grabbed seven rebounds and won six assists, and Minnesota won Houston in Minneapolis.

Edwards entered Wednesday on 49 minutes night, Minnesota won a back-to-back game. Rookie Jaylen Clark scored a career-high 17 points on the bench, Naz Reid (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Rudy Gobert (13 points, 10 rebounds) doubles in doubles.
Jalen Green scored 28 points, leading the Rockets, who lost the season for the fifth time in a row. Alperen Sengun scored 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, while Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore also scored 16 points.
