It was announced today that an all-out Nick Ball will defend his WBA featherweight title against Ireland’s TJ Dorney on March 15 at the Martha’s Bank Arena in Liverpool.
Ball, 27, from Liverpool, is unbeaten in 22 professional games, with the only blemish on his record so far being a draw against Rey Vargas in March. Since then, he has defeated Ray Ford, earning him his current belt, and Ronny Rios, whom he knocked out in ten rounds.
Meanwhile, for Dhoni, this title fight with Power means a jump in weight. Last time, in a super bantamweight bout, he was stopped by Naoya Inoue in seven rounds. The 38-year-old Donini, who has a record of 26-5 (20 wins), likely knows this is his last shot at a world title shot.
A featherweight showdown between Ball and Dhoni could be an exciting one given their respective styles.
