Nick Kenny certainly added his name to Ally Pally folklore during this tournament, ending his tie with Stowe Buntz with an emphatic 3-0 victory at the stadium PDC World Darts Championships.
The Welshman scored an incredible 170 points to seal a victory he didn’t have to decide on, and the look on his face made him hesitant to even go for it. But that capped off an emphatic display as his family and friends could be seen going wild in the background.

Organizes a game with Raymond van Barneveld and since Luke Humphries was expecting to face the king of Dutch darts, Kenny could stoke the fire and pour cold water on the clash.
He certainly thwarted Buntz, who might have been the favorite in the event of a draw given his previous televised excellence, as he took the first set 3-1 with 50% in doubles to open the first set.
The second was more of a throw away for Buntz as he wasted three sets in the deciding match and Kenny eventually found a double 14 to take the full opportunity and lead 2-0.
Kenny only cared about finishing the combination as he scored 64 points and led 1-0. He then added to his 80-point total with a double five in the final shuttle after initially hitting a triple 20. Buntz held on, but his joy didn’t last long.
Kenny as hinted to close the door and seal a great victory. Watch out for Barney, because Kenny is coming. Solidly holding his own in the outside ring and putting on a performance he will be proud of, Van Barneveld will be buoyed by his draw with Humphries and is a man for the big time, but may not be out of the woods just yet. As he proved against Buntz tonight, that could be an advantage for Kenny.
