Solskjaer was officially unveiled as Besiktas’ new head coach on Monday and will take charge of his first game on Wednesday as his side play Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League.
Besiktas are well out of the title race in the Turkish Super League as they are currently 20 points behind leaders Galatasaray, while in the Europa League they are just two games out of the play-off places for the knockout stages.
Meanwhile, United are open to selling both Rashford and Casemiro this month but the Brazilian midfielder is open to joining the Saudi Pro League, Rashford is keen to stay in Europe and favors a move to Barcelona.
Asked about Besiktas potentially signing Casemiro or Rashford this month, Solskjaer told TRT Spor: ‘There’s always a lot of speculation about Manchester United players, always a lot of speculation around me.
‘Casemiro, Marcus, two very good players, but I haven’t spoken to any of them.’
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Solskjaer confirmed that Besiktas are working on new signings for the January transfer window.
‘We are looking at the possibility of transfers in a few different positions,’ Solskjaer said.
‘Chief [Topraktepe]Right now, helping us a lot, he is helping us a lot.
‘It seems that the group, the energy, they are gelling well together, coach, assistant, he and I.’
