Łukasz Małyr made history earlier this month by becoming the youngest ever world darts champion. Earlier this week, Littler turned eighteen and was a PDC Tour Card holder Vincent van der Voort he expects everything to change for him once it’s all said and done.
Van der Voort especially sees the British press lurking. “He was a rising guy for a while, and now he’s there. The press loves him too, but that will change in the long run. When you are still a child, they are still understanding of you “When they see that you are an adult, they don’t mind taking you,” Van der Voort said on the podcast “Darts continues.”
“Luke will have to watch out for this. You’re about to find out that the press wants a scandal from him too. There are stories that people are paid to try to frame others. So it will be a watchful thing for him.”

Netherlands
Van der Voort still sees a big difference between the English and Dutch press. “There’s not much of that in the Netherlands. We are good at expressing our opinions, but it is actually the property of the Netherlands. On the other hand, they often have problems with this abroad.”
In addition, Van der Voort expects Littler to become increasingly busy with requests from the press as well as the PDC itself. “They always want to know what you think about something. It’s going to be hard for him to start canceling things because the PDC wants him for everything. No one has to feel sorry for Littler because they pay him handsomely for it. So maybe just get more now.”
Littler returns to action this weekend at the Dutch Darts Masters. “The Nuke” is the fourth seed in the second 2025 World Series of Darts tournament.
