People can write us off, but I always come back stronger than ever

Final Bahrain Dart Masters concluded in Sakhir on Friday evening. Stephen Bunting defeated Gerwyn’s price 8-4 to win the first World Series of Darts 2025 tournament. However, despite losing in the final, Price can also look back on the tournament with positive sentiments.

Price impressed throughout the tournament, but was faced with a rampaging Bunting in the final.

“Stephen has been playing fantastic darts over the last 12-18 months,” said Price. “I missed a few chances and Stephen took some big money, which obviously put pressure on me.

“I’ve always been chasing the game, but the Premier League is just around the corner so I think I’ll get it back!”

Record average

Price defeated Luke Littler 6-2 in the quarterfinals, scoring an average of 115.31. No one has ever done better in this tournament. So it seems that after a down year in 2024, Price is ready to get back to his best form this year.

“I know my game is heading in the right direction. I’m getting back to my best shape,” said the 2021 world champion. “I practice well, but sometimes I get on stage and it doesn’t happen, and that’s what happened in the final.

“People may write us off, but I always come back fighting stronger than ever. It’s nice to get to another final, but I wanted this trophy. I lost in the semi-final, I lost twice in the final, but next time I’ll do it!”
