Luke Littler’s first World Darts Championship win at the age of 17 had many predicting he would break Phil Taylor’s record of 16 wins, but The Power says he must follow these two rules to get anywhere near that mark .
Luke Littler Victory at the 2025 World Darts Championship capped off a brilliant debut year that saw The Nuke claim Grand Slam titles in Darts and the Premier League.
After winning the world championship Luke Littler claimed he could break Phil Taylor’s record The Power did, however, offer some advice to the left fielder on how to get the most out of his game.

Phil Taylor there is no doubt that Littler’s play is good enough to break his once considered unattainable World Championship record, but he suggested two bold changes that Nuke should make.

Moc said: “I would tell him the shoes. If you don’t stand comfortably on the oche, you won’t hit a target the size of your little fingernail, so make sure your shoes fit perfectly and bring two or three pairs.
In addition to thinking about what he wears on his feet, Taylor suggests that Littler should carefully consider how much he sleeps.
He said, “Make sure you get enough rest. I still take a mattress topper with me everywhere I go because some hotel beds are like sleeping in the middle of the road.
“Your arrows won’t go where you want them to go if your eyes are watery after a restless night.”
Taylor won 16 World Darts Championships between 1990 and 2023 before retiring in 2018.
He returned to darts on the PDC Seniors Tour in 2022 at the Senior World Darts Championships, losing in the quarter-finals to Kevin Painter.
Phil Taylor names the first thing he would do if he coached Luke Littler
Taylor has previously suggested he would have no problem improving Littler if he became a darting coach.
In an interview with Online Darts ahead of the World Darts Championships, the 16-time World Darts Champion said he would make The Nuke give up something very important to him.
He said, “Luke wouldn’t play on his PlayStation, and I could upgrade Luke 100%, no problem.”
Littler’s passion for video games is well-known, and The Nuke recently signed a sponsorship deal with Microsoft and Xbox.
