Police ban Apollon Limassol fans from Omonia 29M championship clash

January 23 – Nicosia police ban Apollon Limassol fans from their upcoming Cypriot Championship match at Omonia 29M.

They have written to the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), informing them that the match at Katokopia Stadium on January 25 is high risk, with serious problems from fans of both clubs.

In their letter, the police mentioned organized incidents between supporters of the two teams in the past as well as information about new incidents in next Saturday’s game.

The CFA has therefore announced that they will follow the recommendations of the authorities and hence the game will be played in the presence of home fans only.
