Premier League LIVE: Rashford talks United exit, Best FIFA winners revealed, Mudryk temporarily suspended

“An Important Decision”

Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has spoken out about his decision to leave Old Trafford this summer to join Napoli.

The Scotland representative was an academy graduate and has been a Manchester United supporter since childhood.

However, this summer he left the Red Devils and moved to Italy to work under Antonio Conte.

The transfer has worked out well for McTominay as the midfielder has made 15 appearances so far, scoring three goals and scoring a further three.

In one of his first interviews since leaving the club, he talked about his decision to finally leave Manchester United.

He told the BBC: “It was a big decision, but quite a simple one.

“I saw the enthusiastic fans, I saw the coach, the players and I saw an opportunity for myself to further develop my career and I took it.

“It didn’t take me long to make this decision because I knew it was what I wanted.

“It was a joint decision of all of us.

“It was friendly. I love this football club to bits, but now I’ve left and I’m having a lot of fun here.”
