Chelsea fans went wild after Ipswich Town were awarded a penalty early in their Premier League clash.
the blues Goalkeeper Philip Jorgensen was adjudged to have fouled Liam Delap inside the area and referee John Brooks pointed to the spot.
Replays showed that Jorgensen was made very little contact but after a VAR check, the decision stood.

“How on earth is that a penalty? That’s a huge dive from Delap,” said one of X.
A second added: “There’s actually zero communication. I don’t understand.”

“It’s never a penalty,” said a third.
A fourth added: “How did VAR ensure there was no contact as a penalty? Ridiculous.”
Moments later, Premier League Match Center explained why the penalty was allowed to stand.
“The referee’s penalty call for a foul on Delape Jorgensen was scrutinized and upheld by VAR, who deemed that there was sufficient contact for a penalty,” the statement said.
Chelsea thought they had equalized midway through the first half but Joao Felix’s goal was ruled out for offside after a long check.
Ipswich held onto their 1-0 lead going into half-time before scoring another goal in the second half.
Omari Hutchinson, who joined the club permanently from Chelsea in the summer, netted just moments after the break.
