Raiders officially announce Pete Carroll as their new head coach

Carroll replaces the fired Antonio Pierce after going 4-13 in his first full season. Pierce was 5-4 as interim coach in 2023 after replacing Josh McDaniels.

The Raiders hope Carroll can repeat his success Seattlewhere he led the Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances. They won it all in the 2013 season and came one interception in the end zone away from going back-to-back.

He spent 14 seasons with the Seahawks, going 137-89-1.

Carroll becomes the team’s 14th head coach since Jon Gruden was traded Tampa Bay In 2002. He is the fifth coach with interim roles since the Raiders moved to Las Vegas in 2020.

He began his NFL head-coaching career with him New York Jets In 1994, going 6-10. He was 27-21 in three seasons patriotic from 1997-99 and joined Seattle in 2010 after nine seasons in college USC. He led the Trojans to a national championship in 2004 and an AP national title in 2003.

Overall, Carroll is 170-120-1 in the NFL.
