Las Vegas Invaders the end of a star defense Maxx Crosby won’t play Monday’s home game against Atlanta Falcons due to an ankle injury, and multiple outlets reported that his season could be over.
The NFL Network reported on Saturday that Crosby would see a foot and ankle specialist on Monday and that there were questions about whether he would play again this season. Meanwhile, He reported to ESPN that Crosby will likely undergo season-ending arthroscopic ankle surgery.
Crosby, who has not practiced the past three days, has 7 1/2 sacks and 17 tackles this season. He is just half away from becoming the third Raiders player since at least 1982 with 60 career games under his belt.
Now entering his sixth season, the 27-year-old Crosby is a three-time Pro Bowler. Last season, he finished fourth in the Defensive Player of the Year voting.
This is the second start Crosby will miss this season due to injury. He started every game in each of the previous four seasons.
Quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who has a bruised left knee, is questionable. He hasn’t practiced for the past three days, but coach Antonio Pierce expressed hope that O’Connell will play.
If O’Connell doesn’t start, the Raiders will turn to Desmond Ridderwho will face his old club. Ridder played 13 games for the Falcons last season.
Also a cornerback Nate Hobbs He did not receive an injury tag and was a full participant in Saturday’s training. He hasn’t played since November 3 due to an ankle injury.
Defensive action Adam Butler (concussion) is questionable and played at cornerback Sam Webb (behind) is doubtful.
