Luke Humphries will face Peter Wright in the round of 16 PDC World Darts Championships after passing Nick Kenny Friday evening will end with a score of 4-0 in sets.
In a night full of drama, it was Humphries who actually had the easiest night compared to Price and Wright, who had an epic match with Joe Cullen and passed Jermaine Wattimena.
“Cool Hand Luke” averaged 98 and four 180s, which is quite good and ranks number one in the world. While Kenny, despite the loss, probably had to return to Q-School, he kept his Tour Card and proved many doubters wrong against Raymond van Barneveld, so he walks away with his head held high.
Wright thought he would face Barney in the round of 16, but instead Humphries showed that perhaps that was more wishful thinking than actual predictions from “Snakebite.”

Early on, the tie was almost back-to-back as Kenny missed the set’s decider at double 18 and Humphries improved to 60 to take the lead.
However, this routine shot was very fitting for the match as it moved up two sets and away without much trouble. He increased his average to 96.5 and sealed the second 3-1.
He continued to increase his runs, averaging 98.5 and leading 3-0. He tied the set 1-1, winning 76 points and then breaking 52. He finished it with a shot of 13 on double eight.
The final set was to make a statement where he shot 145, broke and led 2-0. He then completed the win by posting a 78 with Kenny. Job done, Peter Wright for Humphries.
