After his euphoria after winning nine, Kist was understandably a bit calmer in the second set. However, the first three games continued to be played with darts before Razma secured the first dart break in game 4 with a 12-darter to tie the game at one set apiece.
The solid shot holding continued in the third set, however, as Kist settled back in the first game, before a relieved Razma pinned the final double dart to his hand in the next to stay in touch. Razma then broke Kist’s shot in the third and pulled back convincingly to take a 2-1 lead.
At this point, Razma was completely unyielding, holding his shot firmly again to open set 4, and then attacking Kist’s 180 throw to start leg 2. Kist, however, wasn’t ready to go home yet and held that leg tight to tie the set on 1-1. The Dutchman then missed his big chance with a pair of darts in the outer ring and Razma punished him, taking one away from victory. With 14 darts, Kist forced a decisive leg, but Razma had the darts and opened with a maximum. Winning 11 darts, Razma accepted Kist’s challenge to go on a date with Dirk van Duijvenbode.
