Romeo Grbavac says sorry after using Raymond van Barneveld’s walk on song: “You’re forgiven friend”

The song Survivor Eye of the Tiger is inextricably linked to the darter Raymond van Barneveld for years. But on Thursday afternoon at the 2025 gala, another darter suddenly appeared with this song PDC World Darts Championships in London.

Dart fans heard a familiar melody from the Rocky series Romeo the Hunchback appeared. Van Barneveld apparently had the match on his TV because he immediately posted a comment on X’s social media. “Erm,” he wrote, a bit surprised, along with an eye and a tiger emoji. Luke Littler also responded: “@raybar180 has changed,” he posted on Instagram Stories to his million-plus followers.

However, it seems that Grbavac has not decided to play Eye of the Tiger. “He asked for a completely different song.” Jacques Nieuwlaat – he said during a broadcast on Viaplay. “He sent all the documentation to prove it. He actually wanted to play with Rim Tim Tagi Dim from Baby Lasagna. I don’t know, but it seems to have been a big hit in Croatia.”

According to Nieuwlaat, there are two possible reasons why Rim Tim Tagi Dim was not played. “There are often two reasons for this. Either they put the wrong song on there or they couldn’t buy the rights to the song. After all, it’s an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.”

However, the Croatian darter felt compelled to send a message to Van Barneveld. “Hello Barney. The song wasn’t my choice, I don’t know why they used it,” he sent a private message on Instagram.

The 57-year-old resident of The Hague shared this news on his social media channels. “All is forgiven, my friend,” Van Barneveld wrote in the photo’s caption.
