Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has made the bold decision to omit Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the Manchester derby squad.

The Red Devils managed to beat Pep Guardiola’s side without two key attacking players.

Late goals from Bruno Fernandez and Amad Diallo completely turned the game in favor of Amorim’s side, who ultimately proved to be the right decision for his team.

The Manchester United boss reacted after Amorim was reportedly asked about his decision to drop Rashford and Garnacho from the squad following the win at the Etihad Stadium. Club official website:

“It’s important to say why. It’s not a matter of discipline – next week, next game, new life. They are fighting for places but for me it’s performance in training, performance in games, you The way you dress, the way you eat, the way you interact with your teammates, the way you push the team is all important to me – man Guys. Everything is important when we start to change a lot of things and when people in our club lose their jobs, we have to set the bar very high and for that they have to fight for their place in the team today. Proved we can take anyone out of the team and if we play together you can win.”

Ruben Amorim made the right choice at Manchester United

Rashford and Garnacho have both struggled of late and after dropping them, the Red Devils boss sent them a message telling them they are not untouchable.

Winning without both of them is positive for the club, but not good news for the players.

It should give them a message that they are easily replaceable and that they should give their all to earn a spot on the team.

The next Carabao Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur will be a good opportunity for both players to prove themselves, as Amorim is expected to rotate players again.
