Manchester City has suffered a new injury with the defender Ruben Dias Up to four weeks are excluded.
the manager Pep Guardiola published Portugal The international suffered a muscle problem in the latter stages of last week’s derby defeat to Manchester United.
“He felt something after 75 minutes against United,” Guardiola told a press conference.
“He was strong and wanted to be on the field, but now he’s injured.”
Guardiola also added that goalkeeper Ederson Doubtful for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa.
The news comes just as City, who have lost eight of their last 11 games in all competitions, having won just one, had hoped their injury problems would begin to ease.
John Stones and Mateo Kovacic are both back in contention after being on the bench against United, and Manuel Akanzio could return to Villa Park.
Guardiola said: “Manu and John have been back in training for the last few days so it’s good for us. The more players that come back the better.”
Rico Lewis returns from suspension but at center back Nathan Ake Rodry and Oscar Bob are still sidelined with thigh problems while long-term absentees.
