HAMBURG – WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora says his next fight will be an expected bout against Errol Spence.
Spence last fought in July 2023, losing via one-sided stoppage to junior welterweight Terence Crawford of Las Vegas, but will likely take a straight shot at Fundora in early 2025.
When asked if Spence is next for 28-1 (22 KOs), Fundora said: “Should be. Should be. This fight is next for us. But I wouldn’t say a date because usually people put it on Anyone on social media or in an interview says I say that and then they call me a liar, so I’m just going to leave that to the promoter. But he should be next.
Fundora has been training since April and defeated Tim Tszyu in a fight in March. Although Fundora hasn’t ruled out Las Vegas, a Spence fight could happen in Texas.
Crawford’s loss, a ninth-round stoppage of the undisputed 147-pound champion, was brutal for Spence, who was defeated by the brilliant Nebraska ) analyzed. There are a lot of people who feel that Spence might not be the same, and some think he hasn’t been the same since surviving 2019. Spence cut back and forth before meeting Crawford.
“Absolutely. He only has [just] A loss. “Nobody doubted him. He’s been a champion for a long time. He defended the IBF a few times, he unified [Shawn] Porter, he unified [Yordenis] UGA. I don’t know why people ignore him. We absolutely don’t do that. We see Spence as good as ever and I think everyone should expect a good fight from him. “
