Dave Chisnall questions Premier League Darts picks

Dave Chisnall questioned the inclusion Nathan Aspinall AND Gerwyn’s price in 2025 Dart Premier League saying that it should not be based solely on song and dance.

Chisnall said that although he is friends with both of them, he does not understand the reasoning behind it all and said that if he were a player like De Decker or Heta, he would be annoyed.

Chisnall himself almost snuck into Premier League contention by finishing in the top four after the World Cup, but he didn’t feel aggrieved by being left out.

“The Premier League line-up was nothing surprising this week, but you’d have to be disgusted if you were someone like Mike Decker Or Damon HetaChisnall said quiff.

“I never expected to get the call – even though I’m ranked 6th in the world – because of how poorly I performed on TV this year, but Mike may feel let down after his great performance in the Grand Prix. He may be 24th in the table and the world counted against him, but these young boys are fighting for their chance to shine.

“Damo is another player who I think may feel unlucky, while it’s good to see Chris Dobey and Steven Bunting rewarded with a place. It looks like something of a changing of the guard without Michael Smith and Peter Wright, while Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn I think both Prices can feel a bit lucky to be involved this year.”

“There was a lot going on in Gezzy [on] and struggled in 2024 while Nathan did the same. His performance in the World Cup quarter-finals probably got him hooked and everyone loved his theme song Mr Brightside.

“It’s a great entry point, but it should be about darts, not your fights, that will get you involved in these big competitions. I have nothing against them personally as they are both great guys and get along well, but it should be about your actions on the dial, not the song and dance.”
