Alec Small took victory on Saturday and was crowned the winner of the first week of Modus Super Series competition, after defeating Adam Sevada in the final to earn his place in Champions Week and claim the weekly first prize.
Small, who entered the final after winning Group C on Thursday and Friday, started the evening by winning both of his group stage matches, whitewashing Ross Montgomery and Adam Sevada, to progress to the semi-finals where he faced Neil Meneer and from there Small defeated the Englishman 4:2 and secured a place in the final.
In the deciding match, Small faced Adam Sevada for the second time that night, who had beaten Jack Tweddell in the last four.
Once again, the Welshman overcame his North American opponent as Small defeated Sevada in a final decider 4-3, securing the top spot in the Series Ten Champions Week and collecting the £5,000 prize money.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday for the start of week two, with the start of the first of three days of Group A, featuring two former PDC World Championship finalists in Simon Whitlock and Andy Hamilton.
The game will start at 09:30 GMT and will be broadcast live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via the websites of various bookmakers around the world.
