Mark Williams is feeling well after altitude problems in Tibet
Three-time world champion Mark Williams needed oxygen at a snooker exhibition in Tibet after being affected by high altitude.
Lhasa, where the Winter Plateau Snooker Challenge is held, is located at an altitude of 3,000 meters above sea level.
Williams, 49, posted a photo on social media of himself wearing a tube into his nose, but said: “I feel fine, I’m not sick.”
The Welshman has won 26 ranking events in his career, including the British Championship twice and the British Open three times, the last time coming in April 2024 when he defeated Ronnie O’Sullivan to win the Tour Championship.
Williams won the unranked Champion of Champions title in November and is scheduled to play with Ding Junhui in the league opening round of The Masters at Alexandra Palace on Monday, January 13.
