SportWords is Planet Sport’s game that challenges you to guess football and other sports-related words within six attempts.
As you may have guessed, this is the football edition we’re hosting here at Planet Football, adding to our hundreds of others Football Quiz Many of you already play daily with our type-in-the-answer list quizzes and our full-football-line-up quizzes.
We’re busy building a new home for SportWords and all our other sports games and quizzes, but in the meantime, you can play the daily soccer game here so please bookmark this page, try today’s word, and then come back tomorrow.
How to play
Simply put, you have six attempts to guess a word. There will be a formula for everyone to focus your mind a little.
Type your first guess then press Enter. Each tile will change color to indicate whether the letter is in the correct position, appearing elsewhere in the word, or not at all. A green tile means the letter is in the correct position; An orange tile means the letter is elsewhere in the word; A gray tile means that letter is not in the word.
If you’re struggling, you’ll see a hint button that becomes available from your fourth attempt. Clicking on it will reveal a tile, though note that it’s only available to logged in users
If you’re really struggling and just want to get out of your misery, you can click Quit. It’s not one for the purists, but it’s nice to have the option!
