It was a return to World Series of Darts action Stephen Bunting who will take part in the final tonight in Sakhir. He drank away Luke Humphries in the deciding game 7-6 to seal their place.
It was a match where Humphries led throughout the match, but in key moments of the match it was ‘The Bullet’ who dominated. Moving on, he averaged 99 with five 180s and 50% in doubles.
He averaged 112 tonight to push aside Chris Dobey and is doing well on his return to the World Series of Darts. Having become one of the best players in the world, as well as one of the biggest fan favorites, Bunting could leave Bahrain with the season-opening title later tonight.

Bunting had the higher average early in the tie, but it was actually Humphries who led slightly, scoring 123 points en route to a 4-3 lead, even though his average was 92.3 compared to Bunting’s 96.5.
Humphries pinned a double 10 to keep it 5-3, but Bunting stayed within reach despite needing a break. Long ago he improved to 5-4 with Humphries. Humphries continued to play on two legs, leading 6-4 with a 56 check, but “Cool Hand Luke” missed the chance to make it 7-5 and suddenly it was 6-5.
Bunting made 177 and when Humphries failed to make 147, he returned with 6-6 for a double six. A box score of 96, with Humphries making 140 to leave 46, decided the draw in Bunting’s favour.
Now he will either face Gerwyn Price, who set his average record after one match tonight, or Peter Wright will fight for the title in Sakhir. While Humphries now moves to Den Bosch next week.
