Chris Dobey he joked that the main act came first as he charted his course next PDC World Darts Championships phenomenal victory over Josh Rock.
Dobey, although not looking to the future, now faces Kevin Doets or Krzysztof Ratajski in the fight for a place in the quarterfinals, and his excellent play may still pose a real threat to the final, which will take place next weekend.
Especially considering the form he showed against Rock and a truly Hollywood performance for a fighter who has climbed back onto the big stage.

“It was another battle on the field and I’m delighted to play such a great match. I struggled on the big stage, it just feels good to perform on the biggest stage and start winning again. I didn’t play bad, there were a few where I was disappointed, but yes, you said it right, I went home, worked on it and took a good game to the most important stage of all,” Dobey said.
“I don’t care who I play against. They both count on their chances. Their half has opened up, but I don’t attach too much importance to it, I know whoever I play with, it will be a difficult task. I can’t underestimate any of them.”
“There are no signs of failure. I think I went in confident because I had a good record against Josh. He’s kind of a rhythm player, just like me.”
He also said he assessed certain aspects of the draw but didn’t delve into it too much, while also discussing the fact that he was playing on the same night as Littler and Van Gerwen and how it was affecting him mentally.
“Me and Callan Rydz talked and we are in the same half, but we may meet in the semi-final. You have so many good players in front of you that you can’t think that far ahead.”
“The main topic comes first, not how it works. I’m just happy that I managed to play well to win. Let them keep playing and do what they have to do. I don’t care what they have to do. “
