Tagovailoa’s midseason concussion was a setback for the Dolphins from which they never recovered. In Weeks 2-9, the Dolphins posted a 1-7 record in eight games. It’s been an uphill battle for Miami in the second half of the season. The team announced on Friday morning that veteran WR Odell Beckham Jr. was placed on waivers. He was in his first season with the Dolphins and played in nine games.

In the 2014 NFL Draft, Odell Beckham Jr. It’s No. 12 to the LSU Giants. It didn’t take long for Beckham to make himself a household name in the NFL. As a rookie, he led the league in receiving yards per game (108.8). During the 2014 season, he had 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. In Week 12 against the Cowboys, Beckham Jr. made his famous one-handed catch and dropped it backwards into the end zone. It was a prime-time game for the Giants, and Beckham became New York’s star. After five seasons with the Giants, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns.
Beckham spent two and a half seasons in Cleveland before Cleveland traded him to the Rams before the 2021 deadline. In 2021, he played in eight regular season games for Los Angeles and started seven. Beckham started all four playoff games with the Rams and won a Super Bowl. However, he tore his ACL in Super Bowl LVI and missed the entire 2022 season. The veteran WR spent time with the Ravens in 2023, providing a solid addition for Baltimore. Beckham signed with the Dolphins before the start of the 2024 season, but he was injured before the season began. In 2024, Beckham played in 9 games for the Dolphins and had 9 catches for 55 yards. The Pro Bowl WR was waived by Miami on Friday.
