Titans bench Will Levis after 4 turnovers, turn to Mason Rudolph

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans table starter Will Levis in its third quarter 37-27 loss down Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday after the quarterback threw his third interception of the day and the safety picked six Geno Stone.

Levis held the ball tightly at the end Chig Okonkwo when trying to pass in action through the middle. Stone played center field and read Levis’ eyes on the ball, then returned it 40 yards for a touchdown, making the score 31-14.

Veteran Mason Rudolph he entered the field to relieve Levi. Rudolph has made four starts this season, while Levis has been sidelined with a sprained joint in his right shoulder. Bengal defender Cam Taylor-Britt two series later, he intercepted a Rudolf pass intended for Okonkwo.

The Bengals committed six turnovers on Sunday, four of them courtesy of Levis. Levis’ first turnover was on Tennessee’s third possession after leading the team in touchdowns on its first two drives.

Levis finished the game 8 of 12 for 89 yards with three interceptions and a fumble. Rudolph finished the game 21 of 26 for 209 yards with two touchdown passes and an interception.

Heading into Week 15, Levis’ nine interceptions were sixth-most in the NFL this season. His four interceptions that resulted in a touchdown are the most of any quarterback this season.

The Titans have been trying to build a strong lineup around Levi this season to see if he could become their franchise quarterback.
