The MODUS Super series is hosting “Legends Week” this week. After Steve Beaton has already qualified for Saturday’s Final Stage, Neil Duff, Richie Burnett, Darryl Fitton, Richie Howson AND Devon Petersen they have now joined the legendary “Brown Adonis”.
The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament in which 12 players compete from Monday to Friday for a place in the final group, which takes place on Saturday evening. The player who finishes first after three sessions qualifies directly for the finals on Saturday evening. On the final night, players compete in a small group stage, followed by semi-finals and finals to determine the winner of the week.
The competition begins again next week, with twelve new players vying for the title. After twelve weeks of competition, all weekly winners take part in ‘Champions’ Week’, which takes place every thirteen weeks to determine the winner of the series and the winner who will claim the top prize of £20,000.
This week is “Legends Week”. Steve Beaton finished the first group victorious on Wednesday, so he did not have to return to action on Thursday and Friday. The remaining competitors competed again in two new groups.
Neil Duff won particularly easily in Group B. The 52-year-old Irishman from Northern Ireland, former WDF world champion, did not lose a single match and finished the competition with sixteen points. No less than eight more than number two, Richie Burnett. Also third in this group, Darryl Fitton, thanks to better leg balance than number four Conan Whitehead, can still advance to the final stage on Saturday. For Whitehead i Chris Masonwho took last place in this group, the tournament was over.

Richie Burnett became the BDO World Champion in 1995
In Group C, Richie Howson was absolutely unbeatable, winning all of his ten matches. Second place went to Devon Petersen, who thus managed to qualify for the Final Stage. For the remaining players in this group (Robert Thornton, Wes Newton, Martin Adams and Trina Gulliver) the tournament has ended.
The final phase will end tonight. In two groups of three, the first two competitors qualify for the semi-finals. Matches will then be played in a knockout format until a winner is determined.
