After an eight-game winless run in the league, Bo Svensson paid the ultimate price for his job as Union Berlin decided to start 2025 with a new coach.

Following the suspension of Svensson and his team, the club’s managing director Horst Held released a statement regarding the dismissal.
He said, “After a thorough analysis of the season so far, we are convinced that a significant change is needed to reverse the trend. We have therefore decided not to continue the collaboration with Bo Svensson, Babak Kehanfer, Christopher Wichmann and Tijan Ng.”
“We would like to thank Bo Svensson and his team for the work they have done and wish them the best for the future.”
The club has confirmed that a decision on the transfer will be made in the coming days.
