Jason Brandon continued his remarkable run of form at Frimley Green with another straight demolition. However, to lose a set here, the Tennessean lost just three legs to Belgian Sybren Gijbels.
Brandon broke his opponent twice in the first set and won in straight legs, and when in the second set all legs moved after the throw, it was soon 2-0. Gijbels won the first match in the third round, but this was the last double he managed, and Jason secured his place in the quarter-finals.
Tomorrow evening he will play against former world champion Neil Duff (Northern Ireland).
Elsewhere, Paul Lim took his place alongside Brandon after a thrilling five-set victory over Scot Gary Stone, while tournament favorite Jimmy van Schie took on compatriot Jarno Bottenberg.
