Michael van Gerwen was in Cologne last weekend at the darts exhibition, which was also attended by Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Steve Beaton, Stephen Bunting and Gerwyn Price.
Van Gerwen wasn’t there just to play a few games. The three-time world champion was also asked to play the saxophone on stage.
In the Darts Draait Door podcast, Van Gerwen recalled his musical talent. “What was the plan?” co-host Vincent van der Voort asked his good friend. “Nothing at all,” Van Gerwen replied. ”He asked if I could. Because if you blow into a saxophone normally, no sound comes out of it. Really, it’s really hard.
“So what you did was really very handsome,” presenter Damian Vlottes interjected to the Dutchman. ”No, not at all. I will never do that again either. I’m cured right away,” Van Gerwen laughed.
