Viktor Hovland’s disappointing 2024 seems heartbreaking.
On Friday, Hovland posted a photo on his Instagram account of what appeared to be a broken toe.
“Bed frame 1 – 0 me,” he wrote.
Hovland was still on the list initial full field for the season-opening SentryJanuary 2-5 in Maui, Hawaii. He finished a year in which he had only two top-10 finishes on the Tour, but both were close victories: the PGA Championship (third) and the FedEx St. Jude (T-2).
The Norwegian has particularly struggled with team changes in 2024, following a breakout campaign that saw him win three times, including the FedExCup crown. Despite his struggles, he is still ranked eighth in the world and qualified for The Sentry by finishing T-12 in the FEC standings.
