24th January – To successfully run an international tournament comprising 32 teams from different continents, an army of volunteers is an ‘absolute must’ for any organizing committee. With the FIFA Club World Cup months away from kick-off, the world’s governing body has been silent so far.
FIFA has announced that they are inviting US soccer members to apply to volunteer for this year’s Club World Cup.

Interested parties can apply at FIFA.com and may be considered for various roles if they meet the following criteria.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, speak English, be a US citizen or legal permanent resident, attend training and agree to and pass a name check and criminal history review. They must commit to at least 8 shifts between 14th June – 13th July.
Applicants will find out if they have been successful in April, giving FIFA months to train the lucky few in areas such as access management, accreditation, events, competition management and fan operations (there are 17 distinct roles (there are 17 distinct roles/departments ).
With an event of this size and magnitude, FIFA would need 1000s of able and willing volunteers to pull off the initiative, and with ticket prices reaching stratospheric levels, volunteering could be an economical way to attend the event for the first time.
