Zach Johnson’s advisor, Brian Smith, got into a heated exchange with the brawler over the weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open.
The brawler chose to mock Johnson for his ill-fated tenure as Ryder Cup captain, during which the Americans defeated Europe 16.5-11.5 in Rome last year.
Johnson’s captaincy selection was met with criticism following the defeat, and this week the former Masters champion was heavily criticized by viewers over his choices.
As seen in the video below posted by Zire Golf, the heckler first shouted, “We lost the Ryder Cup because of you,” before Johnson’s caddie decided to get involved. Smith then snapped back, “Why don’t you shut your mouth? Got a problem? to which the heckler replied, “Yeah, with Sam Burns and Justin Thomas,” to which Smith added, “So go talk to them, just shut up. Don’t advertise.”
