Lazio will be hoping to strengthen their midfield department following the recent injury to Matias Vecino in the January transfer window, and with limited parameters, the Biancocelesti will be looking specifically at Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei and Napoli’s Michael Folorunshaw, according to the latest update.
Why Lazio specifically want Casadei or Folorunsho
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello SportRisk of missing nearly two months of action with Vecino injury. And, with Gaetano Castrovelli currently out of the side under Marco Baroni, the team has just three senior midfielders in Matteo Guendouzi, Niccolò Rovella and Fisaio Dele-Bashiru.
However, Lazio’s Serie A squad list is currently full, so they will need to either sign an Italian player aged 22 or under, or promote one who has come through their own youth system if the club want to use them in league fixtures.
For that reason, La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Chelsea’s Cesar Casadei is a tempting option in January.

There is also a suggestion that the Biancocelesti could go for Napoli’s Michael Folorunshaw. The 26-year-old, who came through the club’s academy system, will not take up an additional slot on Lazio’s Serie A squad list.

There were also contacts between the two clubs over a potential deal in the summer, which never materialised.
