A former World Cup winner has seen his time Serie A After five months, the club ended.
Monza have appointed Salvatore Bocchetti as manager to replace Alessandro Nesta, the Serie A club announced on Monday.
The struggling side are bottom of the standings having won just one league match this season.
Nesta was sacked on Monday with Bocchetti signing a contract with the club until June 2027.
Bocchetti’s only previous managerial experience came as caretaker coach at Hellas Verona in 2022.
After a temporary promotion from managing the club’s youth team, he lost all six games in charge, including the defeat at Monza.

A former Italy international and defender during his playing days with Lazio and AC Milan, Nesta took over at Monza when Rafael Palladino left for Fiorentina at the end of last season. This was his first managerial role in Serie A.
Monza’s 2-1 defeat at home to Juventus on Sunday was their third in a row and ninth in 17 games. The club have gone nine games without success since their only league win at Verona in October.
Monza is away to Parma on Saturday, 17th in the standings and five points ahead of Monza
