Tottenham the manager Ange Postecoglou The 18-year-old welcomed the early arrival of South Korean winger Yang Min-hyeok in January before being able to sign in the summer.
Spurs signed Young from Gangwon FC on a five-year deal in July but he stayed at the K League 1 club to finish the season.
He was initially set to arrive in January 2025 but traveled to London this week to familiarize himself with Tottenham’s training ground and his new life in the UK.
Postecoglou said helping Young settle was important and pointed to his experience of signing players such as Japan international Daizen Maeda mid-season during his time in charge of Celtic.
Speaking on Young’s arrival, Postecoglou said: “We won’t be able to register him until January 1 so he won’t be training with us but I always think that’s good. [to get him early].
“I had this experience at Celtic with Asian boys, Japanese and Korean boys, brought them in before Christmas, especially off the field.
“That way we can register them in a few weeks they are already settled and can fully train.
“It’s good to see him around. He’s doing some English lessons which is great, he’s already talking and it’s great to have him in the building.”
Young was one of a number of teenage prospects signed by Tottenham this summer, including Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert.
Although Odobert has been ruled out, Gray and Bergvall and the squad have been forced into first-team duties due to injuries.
Yang has scored 12 goals and provided six assists for Gangwon this season and faces Tottenham in a friendly when the Spurs field a K-League All-Star team in the summer.
He earned his first call-up to the South Korean national team in September, who are captained by new Tottenham team-mate Son Heung-min, but is yet to win his first cap.
